People call me Nelson Earle (especially my mom when I was younger and in big trouble). I am the voice behind LDSSinglesDating.com. I will be your tour guide for this stop along the World Wide Web. I am also the copy writer, editor, publisher, webmaster, graphic design artist, product and site reviewer, the entire marketing department, janitorial staff, gopher, grunt, peon and root beer fetcher (unless one of my 6 mini-me’s happens to be running about that particular day!)

In an attempt to understand the root causes of why my 2nd marriage (yes, I said 2nd) ended and was so vastly different from my first and believing that “who you date determines who you marry”, I started to wonder what I could do to make adjustments and improvements in myself. I started reading and researching all things LDS related to being single, dating, courting and choosing a spouse.  I started reading the advice of prophets ancient and modern about dating and marriage.  I poured over talks and articles, recent and obscure.  I bought books.  I joined internet discussion forums and LDS based internet dating sites. (Gasp!!)  I joined facebook groups, followed people on twitter and read blog posts.  (What can I say, I’m a bit geeky!!)  I’ve learned much and still feel that there is much to learn.  As I’ve studied and grown I found myself sharing what I had garnered with single friends.  (And those thinking of becoming single again!) Then, it dawned on me that all of the information that I was gathering was not available in any one particular place; but could be useful to countless others.  Additionally, I felt the need to, in some small way, reach out and lift others up. (‘cause face it, it isn’t easy being a Single Mormon!)

And thus, the idea for LDSSinglesDating101.com was born.  The intent and purpose is not to catalog my adventures (or misadventures) as a Single Latter-Day Saint (there are plenty of Blogs out there that do that). I don’t intend to share my dating experiences.  My goal and desire is to share resources, highlight events (conferences, cruises, tours, dances), provide objective product & service reviews and be a source of insight and helpful advice to help us all “do and become better.” The perspective that I approach this site with is that of that of a Single Latter-Day Saint striving to keep his covenants and deepen his discipleship of the Lord Jesus Christ while seeking an helpmeet for this life and into the eternities. (Praying, or course, that I didn’t blow my chances!)

It is my hope and prayer that the things I share will benefit you who may be making a parallel journey to find an eternal companion.  Our circumstances may be different: You may be a single Sister; you may not yet have had the opportunity for marriage; you may have been married and lost your spouse through death; you may have suffered through a divorce only once; or, perhaps, like me, multiple times.  Regardless of how our situation and individual journey may differ, remember: We’re LDS!  We’re Single! And, we’re all in this together!
